we'd like to tell you some statistics.
In 2010
2,100 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in Alberta.
Throughout Canada in 2010
23,200 women and 180 men were diagnosed with breast cancer.
Of those,
5,300 women died and 50 men died.
That's 445 women diagnosed every week.
That's 100 women and 1 man dying every week.
But, because of research
like that which Wild Pink Yonder sponsors,
the death rate for breast cancer has declined steadily
in every age group, every year, since at least the mid-1980's.
But still --
1 out of every 9 women will face breast cancer in her lifetime.
